I have to say, being a Golf Specialist at Dick’s Sporting Goods in Norridge, Illinois, has been the most fun job I have ever had.
Yes, my job is to sell golf equipment and accessories. But the real reason I’m there is to promote golf to everyone — to introduce people to this incredible game, help them enjoy it more, and hopefully get a few more people hooked on the greatest game ever played.
On September 17th, I’ll be transferring to the Dick’s Sporting Goods location in Lombard, Illinois. It’s a new challenge and a new journey, with more toys, more opportunities, and even more chances to spread the word about this amazing game.

I’m also in the process of earning my Professional teaching certificate. That means lots of studying, lots of playing, and lots of learning.
Which brings me to something I’m really excited about:
Golf lessons and clinics. 🏌️♂️
Learning while teaching? Interesting concept.
But yes — oh, how effective it is.
I’ll be offering 30-minute and 60-minute golf lessons, with rates still being finalized. I would also like to do clinics for new golfers. I would like to work with Park Districts in the area and get a beginning golf clinic for those that want to start playing.
I’d love to make some extra money doing it, of course, but honestly, that’s not the real reason I want to teach.
I want to teach because it is incredibly fun, and because I promised Barb to pay it forward.
There is something incredibly rewarding about helping someone hit a shot they couldn’t hit before, understand something that had been frustrating them, or simply enjoy the game a little more.
I’m currently working out the specifics on where I’ll be teaching and what my schedule will look like.
